About Me

My publishing career has spanned everything from hand-selling my favourite books as a Waterstones bookseller to securing radio interviews for authors as a publicity assistant. For the last six years, I’ve been an editor for commercial fiction, most recently as Senior Commissioning Editor at Joffe Books. I have helped authors to develop the first stages of an idea into a published novel and edited million-copy bestsellers. During my career I’ve worked at large traditional publishers like Hodder & Stoughton and agile independents like Canelo and Joffe Books.

I have published authors including Bookseller Heatseeker Hannah Hendy, Sunday Times bestselling author Sophie McKenzie, and Amazon bestsellers like MJ Lee and Darren O’Sullivan. I have worked with experienced authors, published bestsellers, launched the careers of debuts and discovered previously self-published writers to bring to new readers.

I also hold an MA (Hons) in English and Modern History from the University of St Andrews and an MA in Publishing Media from Oxford Brookes University.

As an in-house editor, I specialised in crime and thriller, but I love working on all types of commercial fiction, from heartwarming romances to atmospheric police procedurals, from sweeping historical sagas to twisty psychological suspense. Finding an editor who understands your genre and market is crucial so I only take on projects I’m confident I’m a good fit for.

Whether you’re hoping to secure an agent and a traditional publishing deal or self-publish, I’m looking forward to working with you with on your novel and helping you achieve success.
